New Northeast Dining Facility

I thought the new northeast dining facility was going to be constructed during the same time as the New Residence Hall. If so, shouldn't there be renderings on the university website?

I am anxious to know when the ribbon cutting ceremony will
be!!!!

It was supposed to be. There is design rendering somewhere on the OPM State of CT website.
What CCSU does is not show anyone in the public what is coming down the road until the shovels go in the ground. I don't understand that. These concepts and designs should always be there, for the public, alumni and friends to see.
It will be a modern design.
By the way, have you noticed that everything on the university's web is well outdated?

Someday I'll tell you guys about the time I dragged The Facilities Director and HIS boss into my office because they published a master plan that looked like sixth grader wrote it. I think that started my decline in the eyes of the university mucky mucks.

Sorry Newbritainite. I could not locate it again. I'll keep looking, though.

The last discussion that I heard was that it would be built to the north of Galludet and Vance dorms, on the side of the hill. One wall of that dining hall would sit on the edge of the Arute Field parking lot.

How are the students in the new residence hall going to easily access this new dining hall? Will they have kt walk through Kaiser Hall or along side Ella Grasso Dr?

Is this a supplement for Memorial Hall?

This hall will be the second student dining hall on campus. There are dining facilities at the Student Center, of course, but this will be the second one used predominantly for student dining. Perhaps it will be available for special occassions!

It will be between Sam May, Galludet and Kaiser Halls, closer to the bubble. But, it will sit on the hillside alongside the southeastern border of the Arute Field parking lot. Students living in the new dorm, under construction, will either go along the Ella Grasso blvd or may be able to cut through some part of the new high school, sorry, college field house.

Students from Galludet, May, Vance and Sheriden can easily get there, as well.

I hope that those who eschew the tail-gating on the Arute surface parking lot and who are hungry, can find a cozy place in that new dining hall where they can grab a bite and a brew, before, during or after any game. Would it not be nice stop by that dining hall to eat and be merry, before or after a basketball or volleyball game or swim meet? But, who knows if they have thought of that.

Oh, and on that same site (thanks Newbritainite), I found a concept for what I believe is the "infill" building between Diloreto and Willard halls. It's different than what I thought, but interesting. Here's what it looks like (I hope that you can find one of the following that work).

So Delta...bottom line, a good deal of the parking lot will be used? hard to tell from the rendition but I'm assuming they will keep as much of the parking lot as possible.

Our university is so land locked, I guess they have no choice but to cramp buildings in. It's going to be pretty crowded up there with the new dorm, dining hall and rec center.

One thing I'm noticing as I bike by the campus...The campus message signs have messages that are virtually competing with Capus View apartments. It's as if CCSU is advertising for students to sign up for dorm rooms. Is there a surplus of dorm rooms? If so...is the new dorm necessary?
