They are taking some spaces from the Arute parking lot. That section is the one closest to the dorm and to the bubble.
It will have some impact on this year's Homecoming celebration over the Columbus Day weekend.
But, we should all meet there and discuss the dining hall and then have a great time!

I though they were doing an addition to the library but its going to be a new engineering building?

Am I far behind on this?
"New Engineering Building at CCSU. Project will include the construction of a new 100,000 square foot building, which will consist of laboratory, classroom, and office space to support the newly created School of Engineering, Science, and Technology. The facility will be located on the main campus between the Student Center Parking Garage and the Burritt Library.

Central Connecticut State University, New Britain, CT"

Yeah...I had a talk with the library director. The plan to expand the library was scrubbed mostly because, according to the Director, the influence of electronic media lessening the need for a brick and mortar building.

The engineering building will be built on the parking lot between the library and the garage in its place.

Those dates seem reasonable from what I know with one exception. I think the renovation of Barnard may superceed the Willard/Diloretto project as far as scheduling goes.

But yeah...since I was an undergrad in the early-mid 70's, this is the most construction I've ever seen done on campus in such a comparatively short amount of time. For years there was nothing going on.

The steel beams are being erected on top of the foundation. So, the building's progressing.

They are doing a bang up job with the campus renovations. The new residents hall looks awesome. I recently walked the entire campus after a basketball loss and was very impressed. Two building, don't recall the names (I'm getting older, lol) were REALLY ugly. One of them was silver and blue. I do believe those are on the renovation list per the new magazine that came out.

Paul REALLY has to push for a Detrick gym renovation, soup to nuts. They should have the opening ceremony by renaming the court Howie Dickenman court.
