Week 6 @ SHU

Post by ccsuhoops » Tue Oct 01, 2019 11:02 am

Here we go. The big showdown w/ Big Red. We both sit at 3-1 but dare I say, ours is more impressive. They got pummeled by Maine in week 1, beat Bucknell at home by 20, beat Lafayette in a defenseless game on the road by 16 (56-40), only beat LIU by 24. We should really be sitting at 4-0 enjoying this by week after beating the 70th ranked FBS team out of 130, but alas, we f [-X up... What are we thinking for this week?

SHU is going to be coming full force at every Central punt.
Fixing that should have been the priority of the layoff.

A win will put CCSU in first place. A loss will have them anywhere from 3rd to 5th depending on the other games. (quick math so don’t quote me on the 3rd-5th place but that’s about right)

Agreed with you both. SHU has impressed in their first games. They got clobbered by Nationally-ranked Maine, but have done well in the others.

CCSU has exceeded expectations in the EMU game and looked good in the others.

I'm expecting a huge battle in Fairfield. We better be ready for EVERYTHING they throw at us this week.

ESPN has me so confused with Pay / Free...... Is the game available on ESPN3 free or do I need to pay?

My app says ESPN 3 which should be free. + is 4.99 per month but I hear if you are going to buy the new streaming disney, they bundle that with espn + and hulu for $5 less than all three..starting Nov 12.

If CCSU holds its own against SHU....Coach MAC should get that Interim tag dropped... There has been no decrease in the teams performance with Ross departing.... that is a good sign for the team!

Agreed but I'm pretty sure they have to do some full on search for a state job vacancy no? More red tape political bs that wastes our dollars. I'm actually not as cranky today as my posts would allude, lol

ccsuoops is correct: ESPN3 is a free if you are a cable/satellite subscriber, whereas ESPN+ is a separate paid subscription.

This game is available as a ESPN3 steam.

Coach McCarthy is doing great so far, but we've got to fix special teams ASAP. I like what' he's been doing, let's keep it up - this is a HUGE game!!!!!

Somewhat surprisingly, CCSU is the underdog for this game. SHU is a 5.5-point favorite at home.

From the CCSU website under Job Opportunities. Note the submission deadline:
C20-041 Head Football Coach
Submission Deadline: October 4, 2019

SHU (-5) is getting a lot of respect by the odds makers, who probably have no idea where either university is located. This will be a CCSU win.

Yale should have little trouble with Fordham. UCONN will flounder against South Florida and maintain its status as the State’s worst D1 program.

Correct.. an open position has to be posted publicly for a certain amount of time before internal canidates can post.

Yeah., I think so. We will really see when they play Dartmouth and Princeton. Overall, it is hard to tell how strong Ivy League teams are because they play a 10-game schedule and don't participate in the NCAA playoffs.

Would love for the Blue Devils to make a trip down to the Yale Bowl iin an upcoming season.
