With CCSU's resume (4-1; 1-0 NEC) and our only loss at an FBS opponent, we have a real good chance of breaking into the FCS Top-25 poll this week.

CCSU was ranked for 3 weeks in the 2006 season and has also received votes in 6 additional seasons (2009, 2010, 2011, 2014, 2017, and 2019).

CCSU in the STATS FCS Top-25 Poll
2006, Week 6 - #19
2006, Week 5 - #23
2006, Week 3 - #23

Latest poll (10/7/19) is out and CCSU is not yet ranked in the Top 25, but is receiving votes and moving up.

With 70 votes, CCSU is unofficially #32. Yale is just ahead of us with 88 votes.

If we run the table, I wonder what we will rank?
CCSU Class of 2004
Football NEC Champions: 2004 * 2005 * 2009 * 2010 * 2017 *
Men's Basketball NEC Champions: 2000 * 2002 * 2007
The lone CT Men's Basketball team in the NCAA Tournament in 2007.

In the latest D-1 rankings:
#65 Yale
#197 CCSU
And then WAY BACK at #334 is UConn.

Does this give us a little leeway to start making condescending comments about UConn the same way people on the Boneyard do about us?
:) :) :)

Found this site as I was looking for a current poll. Oddly, it shows CCSU dropping in spite of the win.

Look on the bright side! That poll has Central ranked 20 spots higher than Duquesne with the rest of the NEC even farther down. So those experts consider Central to be the favorite to win the NEC.

Yup! I have to reiterate earlier posts. Anything but an NEC championship is unacceptable this year.

Great news!

CCSU is ranked #25 in the latest STATS FCS Top 25 Poll.

Central is also unofficially #26 in the Coaches poll, by having the most votes outside of the Top 25.

We are now deep enough into the season to rank the state’s D-1 football programs.

1 CCSU (5-1, 1-0 NEC):
A last second blocked punt away from a 6-0 start. On the downside, yeah we need some work on special teams. On the upside, other than that we are a really good team. Hopefully Coach McCarthy enjoyed a relaxing Sunday raking leaves and crossing out the word “Interim” on his business cards.
Next: Bryant

2 Yale (3-1, 1-1 Ivy):
The pre-season Ivy favorite was roughed up by Dartmouth 42-10. And the Bulldogs still have to play Harvard and our returning champion, Princeton. The Ivy is stronger and more balanced than in past years, so it is possible that multiple teams could finish with league records of 6-1 or even 5-2. Yale should be one of them.
Next: @ Richmond

3 Sacred Heart (3-3, 1-1 NEC):
The Pioneers are 2-0 in the Patriot League, but unfortunately actually reside in the NEC. Already a 28-3 loser to the Blue Devils, SHU may be in a de facto loser’s bracket scenario as far as the conference title is concerned.
Next: Duquesne

4 U-Con (1-5, 0-3 AAC):
In most areas of the economy, misrepresenting your product or service results in accusations of fraud. Clearly that is not the case in college football. This team is for all practical purposes an FCS level program. And not an especially good one at that. Fans who have invested money in season tickets and donations must feel very foolish now.
Next: Houston
