Wow...extensive and in depth! I’m sure our staff would love to do something like this but as is our common complaint...our resources are tight.

Regarding the game, of the first three so far, this SHOULD be a convincing victory for CCSU...but our teams always keep us guessing.

Series History
This is the first matchup between Central Connecticut and Valparaiso in football, but the schools were former conference rivals in the Mid Continent Conference (Mid-Con) for three seasons (1994-95 through 1996-97).

CCSU is 0-3 all-time vs. Pioneer Football League and last played a PFL team in the 2009 Gridiron Classic.

Dec. 5, 2009 - Central Connecticut 23, Butler 28 (Indianapolis, Ind.)
Oct. 7, 2000 - Central Connecticut 20, San Diego 38 (San Diego, Calif.)
Oct. 3, 1998 - Central Connecticut 14, San Diego 28 (San Diego, Calif.)

The Blue Devils are 3-3 vs. current Pioneer League member Marist, however those games were played before the Red Foxes joined the PFL.

Correction: Gridiron Classic was in 2009

Looks like espn+ is a $5 per month deal. May just get it and cancel.

WTH with this center?! That touchdown is on him! Can’t snap last week and crucial third down penalty to cost us a gd. Bench this kid! 🤦🏻‍♂️

I’m checking the stats here in Greece...yes...it’s 9:30 pm here. Early morning of hiking tomorrow so I thought I would check the score.

You are right hoops. The snaps in last weeks game were God awful. Winchester has to save more than his share of them.

Solid game by the Blue Devils! After last week I won’t say 3-0 but if we do, would be the first time since the 70’s I believe..

42-15!
3-0.
Wonderful win.
Not the best opponent, as it turned out, but, a WIN!
Who's driving/flying out to Michigan?

Excellent effort, minus the two blocked punts and the apparent bad snaps. Also, Eastern Michigan beat Illinois 34-31 on a last second field goal.

Yep. Need to work on the punting.

Not the best opponent, but that's a long road trip (flight) and we don't always keep our composure. Good win - did a lot of good things out there today.

Great start for CCSU this season - huge test coming up at Eastern Michigan.

They took home $1,000,000 too! Some of that was the $300,000 UConn paid Illinois to come to East Hartford. 😂

"Some of that was the $300,000 UConn paid Illinois to come to East Hartford." Skyhawkct.

Then that mean some of the money we will get from Eastern Michigan is actually coming from the Evil Empire.

A great game by the Blue Devils. Holy crap! talk about a running attack.
I am going to take a guess that there is going to be a huge emphasis in this week's practices on 'how to successfully complete a punt.'
One thing that has impressed me about this team is the speed of the Central players, they seem to be a step faster than the opposition, especially at running back and defensive back. How many fast running backs does Central have?
Of course it begins in the trenches, but the backs just seem to be so quick to the hole.
After this 3-0 start I am optimistic about the NEC prospects for this team.

Next week is going to be interesting, it might not be pretty.

As a side note, did anyone else have any problems with ESPN+? The broadcast kept stopping and starting and was very annoying. I know it was from their end because I watch streaming broadcasts a lot and rarely have any problem.
Well, as a fringe benefit I watched the Fury/Wallin heavyweight boxing last night as it was also on ESPN+ and for two hours there was not one interruption, no problems. It was a surprisingly entertaining fight!
I cancelled my membership today. Well worth the $5.
