Week 11

Post by J.J. » Thu Nov 08, 2018 7:03 pm

Good news is CCSU is a 6-point favorite at Saint Francis (Noon)

Bad news is Sacred Heart 2.5-point favorite at Duquesne (1:00 pm)

Central must win and hope that the Dukes pull of the upset at home and hand SHU their first NEC loss this year.

Other games of interest:

Columbia (-10) at Brown
Fordham (+20) at Holy Cross
Lafayette (+45) at Army
Robert Morris (+28) at Eastern Kentucky
Wagner (+4.5) at Bryant
UConn (+19.5) vs. SMU

Its a pity. We have one of the best QB's in the history of the program and have wasted his Junior (suspension for the playoffs) and Senior year.
Two seasons wasted!

CCSU alum Steve Addazio on ESPN College Gameday this morning. He leads the BC Eagles in a huge Game tonight.

#2 Clemson at #17 Boston College (8 pm, ABC)

BC has running back AJ Dillion from New London, who was on the record saying back in high school his dream was to play at CCSU. Now he is playing for a CCSU alum on a Top-25 team.

Duquesne takes care of business against SHU, 28-24.

Duquesne and Sacred Heart are now both 4-1 in NEC play. The Dukes now hold the head-to-head tiebreaker against the Pioneers.

CCSU needs to close this one out! SFU just intercepted a pass and trails CCSU 21-14 early in the last quarter.

So now CCSU will win the NEC championship when and if we win against Dusquene?
CCSU Class of 2004
Football NEC Champions: 2004 * 2005 * 2009 * 2010 * 2017 *
Men's Basketball NEC Champions: 2000 * 2002 * 2007
The lone CT Men's Basketball team in the NCAA Tournament in 2007.

It all comes down to the final week ...

Central Connecticut (4-1)
Duquesne (4-1)
Sacred Heart (4-1)

Playoff Scenarios:
Duquesne clinch a spot in the playoffs with a win at CCSU.
Sacred Heart wins the AQ with a win vs. SFU and a Duquesne loss at CCSU.
Central goes to the postseason with a win vs. Duquesne and a Sacred Heart loss vs. SFU.

This time next week we will know a lot more.
SFU looked to have a decent D today, so maybe they can hang in there and pull off a win in Fairfield next Saturday.
I would imagine there will be a good crowd at Arute next week.
