It's not that they can't shoot, they just take terrible, low-percentage shots
Confused. Not a stats guy (yet) so not going there but they took the same number (roughly) of threes and twos yet made half as many of both.Stats for the game were very close as well. Are you saying the threes or the twos are low percentage? I did notice one of the warmup drills concentrate on that mid range jumper you hate. Agree on the ball movement part. It’s hard to watch. Maybe if the EE is so proud of their alum in the coaching ranks of div1 hoops, they can get Calhoun or hell even Geno to coach our coach.

Tonight’s game should be super fun without Coleman, heard he was on crutches. Does anyone know when the semester is over and if Krishnan got his gpa up? 😑
Not to speak for 4-3, but yes. We’re taking so many bad shots. All that does is breed inefficiency and selfishness on offense. If you were at the Hartford game you probably noticed that Hartford’s kids were deciding what to do with the ball BEFORE the pass even arrived in their hands. NOBODY held the ball for more than second or two.
Not all shots are created equal. If we have a guy who goes dribble-dribble-then fire up a 3 with a hand in his face that sucks. Inefficient and selfish. How about MOVING?! How about MOVING the ball?! How about dribble-penetrate-kick to the baseline?! Very frustrating to watch.

We're a 15.5 point 'dog to Columbia tonight.

We will only be favored in 1 game this year - vs. D-II Conn. College.

This is just awful basketball. Not only are we losing (and losing big) in each game, but it is really painful to watch.

Zero entertainment value and it doesn't look like we are improving in any facet of the game. Every stats shows this is a awful team. We are scoring a pathetic 53 points a game.

CCSU is now down 22 points to Columbia at halftime!!!!!

Look at these margins:

vs. Hartford (-15)
at St. John's (-30)
vs. Arizona St. (-41)
at Massachusetts (-46)
vs. New Hampshire (-14)
vs. Vermont (-32)

The Lions lead is now 29.

Central has just 11 points in the first 8 minutes of the second half.

We are consistent - consistently awful.

Central scores just 52 points (season average) and loses by 30 to Columbia.

Not sure a week off will help, and I'm willing to guess that will be 20-point underdogs to UMass-Lowell next Sunday.

Starting to suspect that DM has no idea how to get though to/ teach kids. He certainly knows that they aren’t doing what he wants and expresses that in frustration to his coaches but they continually repeat the same bad shots every time down court. Also to hold the ball at the last possession to go down 30, why? Columbia was 1-5 going into this.

Is the low win mark for CCSU d1 3? Cause we’re gonna challenge that for sure this year. Team is lost.

You’re better off hill...it’s simply not good basketball. Stayed for game two and the difference is ridiculous, ball movement, shot selection, defense, all of it. We just look like we throw five guys out there and wait and see...granted, two of our best players didn’t dress but not sure how much that will help.

DM is now digging us a hole. What parent is going to tell their kid to come to this $h!t show?

In defense of DM, I am sure that having Coleman, Wallace, and Krishnan watching the game in street clothes was not in the plan.
Let's at least acknowledge that the plan was that they would be the foundation around which this young team was going to be constructed.
Taking that in context of the last few years, there is always something that goes wrong. It seems that DM's history here is that there is the inevitable monkey wrench thrown into the machinery every year.
-coaches fighting with each other
-the star player throwing a chair and suspended
-a fight between players that warranted intervention by the campus police
-mass exodus via transfers
-a star player sits for academic reasons, and two other stars out with injury.
Its a very negative pattern and not a good look. Especially discouraging because with the OC schedule of last year, it did look like DM had turned things around

Anyway, I did not watch the game mostly because I was glued to the Patriots/Cowboys game! What a match up, the number one Defense versus the number one Offense! The Pats are so good in bad weather and/or winning ugly.

Yeah I mean, basically what he said.

They're shooting 32.6% from three, which is essentially right at the national average, and a bunch of guys who are wholly capable of making open shots.

But yeah, there's no ball movement, and so many players are taking long twos and off balance runners. Coleman, Outlaw, Wilson and Tennyson have AWFUL shot selection, and Newkirk and Ayangma aren't much better.

Our starting PG is averaging 1.7 apg in 25.1 mpg. 1.7!!!

I'm going to write about this tomorrow, but this is by far the worst offensive team in school history. The numbers are laughable.
