When Kohl is the best player on the floor, we are the favorite. But he's human and can gave bad nights. If he plays like today, you have to like our odds in the NEC. Not a pretty win, but a win none the less. This is what we expected and we have to give credit to an improving Maine team. And let's not forget it's not easy to jump off a 6+ hour bus ride and play well. Maine isn't great, but that is equivalent to our dreaded Western PA trip.

Give Donyell credit. He admitted he should have should have fouled before that 3-point shot in the first OT. He's still learning to be the head coach.

We are a good, but certainly not great team. We need more depth and scoring from the bench. We need to limit turnover. Lots to work on, but this is still much more fun to watch than the last 3 years under Howie. We are slowly getting better.

Merry Christmas to all!

We’ll take it. And yeah Hoops...I think they are OK scoring points, but in other games I notice that they just don’t take care of the ball.

A great game. Maine is so much improved over last year.
Central just could not pull away, just maintaining a one or two possession lead. How close was this game? Tied at the half, the close of regulation, and the first OT.
A nice road victory.

Malpractice to allow that to happen once. It’s an aggrivated felony to allow it three times.

If that doesn’t teach a lesson then the ceiling on this staff and program is lower than it should be because this is day 1 stuff.

It’s a Maine broadcast I think Hoops. Several UM promo videos. Nervous 5.5 seconds.
Should have known that, she’s just pissing me off so much lol
The entire AE home schedule is on ESPN3 - it’s a home broadcast though - like a well-produced NEC Fromt Row.

Not only did they do the wrong thing THREE times. Maine took all of the risk out each time by calling timeout and removing the risk they would foul too early.

I'll take the win, but damn, that was maddening to watch. It had all the makings of a typical Central meltdown. Good thing Kohl was clutch. Hugley was terrible most of the game, but he came up with a huge 3 late.

Maybe that’s a good sign toprow, it did have all the makings of a typical CCSU meltdown, maybe the times are a changin! Free throws were clutch and the difference in the game but DM has no answers for the turnovers, 20, smh...

All the criticisms are valid, however the bottom line is that this is a real good road win. I will take it!

When a team makes such heroic last minute desperation comebacks to prolong the game it often takes the heart out of the team that let it happen. Central showed determination by just saying, "okay that is what happened, now lets get to work to win this."

Clutch foul shooting and Hugely, who had a bad game, ends up redeeming himself by knocking down the killer shot.
The Maine defense was keying on denying Kohl and Krishnan, so someone else had to step up. The announcer said at the beginning of the first OT that if Central was going to continue to rely solely on Kohl and Krishnan then they would lose.

Maine is going to be competitive in the AE, they are really underrated. This is not the same team as last year. There are new players and a new coaching staff. The coach is an excellent strategist. He was formerly the women's BB coach.

UofH is the preseason #2, but having seen both, I think Maine is the better of the two. Central manhandled UofH in the paint, but Maine's bigs had an edge in rebounds vs Central. That combined with the new coach and the ability to knock down threes indicates that this is going to be a pretty good NEC/AE level team.

Yes, on the ESPN3 broadcast. The first thing he said to the interviewer was it was his mistake not to foul. Overall, we have to be pleased with the win.

Get the win and Yell learned his lesson? Awesome.

Hilltopper is right - coming back from those two daggers was impressive. Thank God that kid randomly fouled Kohl in the backcourt for no reason when Central was down one.
