That’s three and not one point guard. Three more to go right?

I think there are 4 more to go, no?
----------returning---------------------------
1. PG - Thai Segwai (soph)
2. SG - Ian Krishnan (soph)
3. SG - Tyler Rowe (sr/rs/walk on)
4. SF - Chris Williams (sr)
5. PF - Jamir Coleman (sr)
6. PF - Donyell Marshall Jr (sr/walk on)
7. PF - Karrington Wallace (soph)
8. C - Harrison Kay (sr)
----------incoming-------------------------------
9. SF/PF - Stephane Ayangma (jr/jc transfer)
10. SG - Trevian Tennyson (fr)
11. PF - Xavier Wilson (fr)

I count 9 scholarships with 4 more to fill. Is this tally correct?
Anyway there needs to be at least one and maybe two real PG's

Does DM’s kid take a scholarship? Thought they said he didn’t and that he was just there for their relationship.

FYI if you're interested, I wrote about Xavier Wilson's commitment.

Looks like a nice player, though it's typically a tough transition for big men at this level. Will help with the depth in the frontcourt right away, even if it means coming off the bench.

Ian Krishnan has the opportunity of a lifetime. He can score 25 a game by accident and be a pro overseas in 13 months.

Still no PG's. With three incoming freshman, i would expect that there is going to be one or preferably two ready to go JC transfers in the remaining three openings.

I’m far from an expert on understanding scouting reports but his high school credentials “don’t suck”.

FWIW, Verbal Commits lists Chris Williams as "transferred", which would mean that there are still three open scholarships. However, I've not seen that anywhere else (including his Twitter page), so take it with a grain of salt.

Also, I wrote primers on each of the last four commits. Figured I'd link to them here.

Newkirk: https://www.thebluedevilsden.com/single ... ch-Newkirk

Outlaw: https://www.thebluedevilsden.com/single ... reg-Outlaw

Wilson: https://www.thebluedevilsden.com/single ... ier-Wilson

Ayangma: https://www.thebluedevilsden.com/single ... ne-Ayangma

I don't think any of them are overly exciting...I doubt there's an Ian Krishnan level stud in this bunch...but I'm still very excited for Trey Tennyson. Don't be shocked if he's on the All-Rookie team in 2019-20.

Yes! Chris Williams' status was updated a few hours ago to a Transfer.
It has been a busy Sunday, a VC and a Transfer, one in and one out.

Ugh, so of returning players, two starters. Hoping these new comers can compete but we all know the reality of that.

It would have been tough enough to lose your two best players (Kohl and Bute), but to add Hugely makes it difficult to have any optimism for a good NEC team.
That is just a lot of interior scoring and rebounding that needs to be replaced. And last years team's major weakness, the lack of PG options, is still a problem.

The good news is that all of the transfers not named Hugely are replaceable. Actually the transfers allow for an influx of new talent making it more likely that one or more will be much better than what has left. That is assuming that Coleman, Wallace, and Krishnan are staying. The way things have gone, I take nothing for granted.

To paraphrase Branch Rickey’s response to Ralph Kiner’s threat to leave the Pittsburgh Pirates following a proposed salary reduction; we finished in last place with them, we can do that without them.

I literally laughed out loud Shoreline!

When the team was absolutely God awful under Brown, I said to my buddy Joe “Hell, give me that six figure job. I’d just let the kids play street ball. It cant be any worse than what we are seeing now”.
