Re: New scoreboard in Detrick Gym

Ok...I see it now. It’s offset to the left facing the south wall? I also thought it WAS a replacement for the old scoreboard.

And JJ...So am I...Urban Planning. 😜

By the way, that article was hilarious...citing that ridiculous Civi ConnFLct game that never amounted to anything.

Re: New scoreboard in Detrick Gym

Obviously, the person who wrote the article didn’t major in Geography. Unless I read it wrong or can’t visualize it correctly, the scoreboard is on the SOUTH side of the gym.

I definitely know that the Huang Center is attached on the NORTH side.

Re: Evil Empire Update

For what it’s worth, I had a discussion with a gym buddy who is well connected with UC athletics. He isn’t happy with the move and said without hesitation “This is all being done to make Geno happy...period. He’s been complaining about the AAC since day one”. Like I said, take it for what it’s worth...

Re: Is DMarshall on the hot seat????

Well stated 4-3. I was just very discouraged over the fiasco last year and of course I’m hoping for a huge turn around and a successful 2019-21 season. I’ve talked to DM several times at Big Sky gym and I can tell that he is genuinely excited about being a head coach. It looks like he’s got a talent...

Re: Is DMarshall on the hot seat????

I was going to make a similar comment regarding these hot new recruits but thought I was posting too much. Yeah...he seems to get quality players but last year’s season ended in a dumpster fire. These recruits look great on paper and perhaps they are indeed quality players but can DM coach and keep ...

Re: Recreation Center updates

I don’t expect anything exciting Hill. I already saw a photo of the scoreboard with the same old drab wall complete with pipes and conduits.

We may see free standing hoops and there will be added seating on the north side but I’m pretty sure that’s about it.

Re: Men's Basketball Announces Addition of Six for 2019-20

Any kid at that height with reasonable talent could...that’s COULD dominate the NEC. Obviously, it all depends how he’s coached and how he progresses. Check him out on this Iona board. It’s difficult not to get excited as we have been down this road many times before but still... http://ionahoops.pr...

Re: Problems found in new ceiling at Gampel Pavilion

This is just a blip JJ. Our lovely little state will pay anything to make sure UConn gets what it wants.

Mark my words, the EE will get a new on campus arena long before CCSU.

Jeez...I’ll be 64 and I’m starting to realize that I’ll never see a new on campus arena in New Britain.

Re: EE back to the Big East

He’s been pretty quite Hoops.

I was disappointed in Paul but he at least made his name known by rebranding the program. I’m saying he did something whereas all I hear from our new AD are crickets.

Re: EE back to the Big East

"UConn and the State of Connecticut will authorize and pay about $15 MILLION in administrative fees just to change athletic conferences." J.J. And what about the lost costs of Rentschler if in fact the EE does drop football? This move really puts the "con" back in UCONN. And the “rent” back in Rent...

Taxpayers should form a group to sue UConn for wasting millions building Rentchler.

Re: EE back to the Big East

Speaking of money...unfortunately, we already paid (and are probably still paying) mortgage on Rentchler. What a waste of public funds.

BTW...I wonder if UMass would join the AAC in all sports? Or are they also in a situation where they are in a superior CBB conference?

Re: EE back to the Big East

NB...I doubt UC would drop to FCS but you do have a point. If they do, the CAA would be the logical choice. Having said that, I’m afraid we are stuck in FCS Hell here in the NEC. We just don’t have the resources to make the move but UC obviously does. I think UC will end up in C-USA and stay at the ...

Re: Men's Basketball Announces Addition of Six for 2019-20

I stand corrected and I apologize for misstatements not my thoughts. Yes there was the one incident a couple years ago. I was thinking about the coaching staff in general and how they handled team issues like the Hugely/Khol incident and incorrectly implied it was an internal coaching staff issue. I...
