Re: jake cut from bengals

Very happy for Jake, but as a JETS fan, this sucks.

My nightmare would be Jake suited up for the Pats and leading them to victory at MetLife Stadium over the green and white. :(

Re: Chip Malafronte

Wow, very sad.

Knew the name well and read many of his articles over the years, but never knew he was a CCSU grad.

Re: Fall sports

Tough call, but prudent at this time, plus nice statement from Tom P.

Re: 2020 Non-conference schedule

Disappointing, but understandable decision. This still allows team activities and practices, which is needed for football since we lost Spring and Summer camps. I doubt we see football this year, but maybe we get a shortened NEC-only schedule for soccer and volleyball in Oct. and Nov. The next big d...

Re: 2020 Virtual Media Day

That was a very well put together program. Paul and Ralph do a great job. Only thing missing was an official update on the virus and what the current state is, that was a miss by leadership who instead thought making things political was the better message. Agreed. The NEC media team is one of the ...

Re: 2020 Virtual Media Day

You can watch on here http://necfrontrow.com/game/7488 CCSU picked #1 unanimously and Tre and Tyshaun were great guests. These kids have a bright future in football and off the field. Great responses to the questions, looking forward to seeing them out there this year. Coach Mac was great as well. B...

2020 Virtual Media Day

A lot of things can change in the upcoming weeks and months, but the Football Media Day is this week, so a football season looks promising right now. =D> I expect they will provide an update on schedules, as we know the CCSU-Wagner game for 9/5 has to be pushed backed. https://twitter.com/NECsports/...

Re: 2020 Non-conference schedule

It appears that the CAA is cancelling league play, but is allowing it's schools to create an independent non-conf
football schedule if they wish.

Tweets indicate JMU will try to put together a schedule. Will be interesting to see what tMaine, UNH, URI, Albany, and SBU do.

Re: 2020 Non-conference schedule

Not looking good for this season.

NE-10 (SCSU and UNH) announced no sports until January.

Colonial (CAA) is rumored to be cancelling football this fall.

It's still possible for the NEC to play, but it is looking doubtful.

Re: 2020 Non-conference schedule

They need to figure this out. The virus is not going to go away any time soon so they can't continue to cancel the world over it. Fact of life is we need to figure out ways to live with it till its not an issue. There is a vaccine in the works, mask usage and physical distancing has proven to work....

Re: 2020 Non-conference schedule

I'm skeptical that we will even have a 2020 football season, but if we can make it happen, I like the idea of a 9-game schedule (6 NEC + 3 non-conf) Non-Conference @ UConn - FBS $$$ + bus ride @ UMass or Boston College - FBS $$$ + bus ride vs. Merrimack or URI or UNH - but we need a home game* NEC v...

Re: Next Season

We won't know anything until we see what kind of season is played, if any. I'm a huge Pat Sellers fan as well, but I'm also excited about the next generation of CCSU alumni in the coaching ranks. We got Obie (a former CCSU assistant coach) doing some work in the NBA scouting/development, plus guys l...

Re: Kyle Vinales

I'm 100% with Hill on this one. Overall, I'm glad he was here and OK that Howie took him back after he flirted with transferring to a bigger program. Let's be honest, he was more than capable of playing at a "higher level" program and I don't begrudge him for looking at greener pastures - everyone L...
