Re: Jake Watch

More on Jake from Sports Illustrated : An under-the-radar quarterback to know: Central Connecticut State quarterback Jacob Dolegala. The 6' 6" Dolegala tore his labrum early in his senior season in high school, throwing off college recruiters, so he went to prep school for a year and his only schola...

Re: Jake Watch

Longtime NFL exec Gil Brandt tweeted Monday: "Tyree Jackson wasn't the only QB at Buffalo's pro day last week who scouts were paying attention to. @CCSUfootball's Jacob Dolegala impressed so much, some think he worked his way into an early Day 3 pick. A labrum shoulder tear in HS threw off recruite...

CCSU to Allow Of-Age Student Alcohol in Certain Dorms

Students at Central Connecticut State University are toasting a new pilot program that will allow those 21-years-old or older to have and drink alcoholic beverages in their dorm rooms. “I think it’s a good idea in general just bring more students on campus,” Nicky Florestal, a CCSU sophomore, said....

Re: 2019 Postseason

Agreed. I stand by my assertion that CCSU's vision should be to align with highly-regarded, regional, public universities. To me, membership in America East achieves that goal. For all the reasons stated a zillion times (academics, facilities, budget, leadership, politics), that's just not in the ca...

Re: 2019 Postseason

Sky - you know you're preaching to the choir. You've seen enough of this madness over the years, I'm not sure when CCSU leadership stops making excuses and starts with a bold plan to be competitive with schools we once considered peers. It is pathetic that schools like Quinnipiac, Monmouth, UMBC, Bu...

Re: 2019 Postseason

The NEC is a garbage can of crap - so what does that make Central? This used to be a great day and loved following the selections, now days it is embarrassing. At some point real soon, we have to figure out why CCSU wants to remain D-I if we aren't investing and promoting the program like Vermont an...

Re: 2019 Postseason

The NEC is regulated to Dayton yet again.

DYK - The Northeast Conference has played in the Opening Round every year since 2013 and has 2-4 record heading into this year's matchup.

Robert Morris has already accepted a CIT invitation. St. Francis-Brooklyn likewise for the CBI.
Wow. I know those are pay to play, but how bad are these tourneys? Even worse, CCSU has never even sniffed one of them

2019 Postseason

NEC is likely looking at just 2 postseason teams, and here is my bracketology predictions:

NCAA
#16 Fairleigh Dickinson vs. #16 Iona (MAAC)
Winner vs. #1 Duke or Virginia

NIT
#8 Saint Francis at #1 St. John's

I don't see Robert Morris getting a CIT bid, but it is an outside possibility.

Vermont just won America East and will head back to the NCAAs. Would be nice if we get a game against the Catamounts at Mohegan.

Re: 2019 Coaching Carousel

I'd also note that Fairfield is using a private search firm. Those groups are notorious for packing the list with clients they already know. I always think it is irresponsible to hire a search firm, when this is the primary job of an AD. That being said, the last search here was a debacle, so who kn...
