Re: 2019-20 non-conference schedule

Nice to hear we're back in another exempt tourney! Schedule is shaping up nicely. News sources confirm that Vermont is playing at Virginia & St. John's, so it looks likely that Central will get a game at UMass to go along with game at Virginia reported by Nelson Castillo 2019-20 Tentative MBB Schedu...

Re: Whos Left???? Early March 2019

I saw a tweet this kid turned down UAB for CCSU. Very impressive signing. Still have concerns at PG and there will be more new faces than old ones, so I worry about team chemistry and how long it will take for them to gel as a unit. As pessimistic as I am, there is literally no where for this progr...

Re: Future Schedules (2019-2027)

Its my understanding that LIU football is going to be FCS right from the start, no transition period. Confirmed - LIU begins Northeast Conference play in 2019. Appears that Merrimack will have to wait 3 season and won't officially begin NEC play until 2022. I imagine they may show up on NEC team's ...

Re: 2019 football schedule

STATS has also released schedules for Saint Francis and Sacred Heart , but neither school has posted an official release on their website. Sacred Heart (at Maine, Bucknell, at Lafayette, at Penn, Lehigh) http://www.fcs.football/cfb/story.asp?i=20190402103049662896404&ref=rec&tm=&src=FCS Saint Franci...

Re: 2019 football schedule

LIU announces a 10-game schedule and confirms a few things. 1) LIU is a FCS program this season and will play a full NEC schedule (7 games) 2) LIU may add up to two (2) additional opponents this season 3) LIU plays at Villanova (CAA) this year and will get a return game in the future 4) Merrimack is...

Re: 2019 football schedule

So LIU, they are called the Pioneers currently, does that change? Will they be playing @ Bethpage Federal Credit Union? If so that's literally on Long Island so a pain in the arse drive with bu-coo tolls I'd imagine. Ugh Yes, LIU will have a new mascot for the combined programs. It is sad they are ...

Re: 2019 football schedule

STATS is reporting that CCSU has announced their 2019 football schedule, but it has not yet been posted on CCSUBlueDevils.com http://www.fcs.football/cfb/story.asp?i=20190403101243105089604&ref=rec&tm=&src=FCS They only change from what I posted as tentative was the removal of the D-II game. =D> It ...

Re: 2019 Coaching Carousel

He’s was placed on leave since June 2018 because issues with the Police Department.

If I were to guess, he is never coming back.

It is best if CCSU just moves on. For a multitude of reasons, he has not served the university well in his position.

Re: 2019 Coaching Carousel

Jay Young to Fairfield. Schlickman finally gets his man, three years later. Not that we wont draw any comparisons or anything.   Haha...that's natural, though probably unfair. If Young has success there, it doesn't mean he would have been successful at Central. Fairfield...

Re: Jake Watch

Dom Amore: Central Connecticut’s Jacob Dolegala could be an NFL Draft sleeper No one lasts at the quarterback position without unshakable belief in his ability, and Dolegala, who measured 6-foot-6 ½ and 240 pounds and ran the 40-yard dash in 4.91 seconds, has the physical tools to substantiate it —...

Re: 2019 Coaching Carousel

I wonder of Paul Schlickmann (now at Fairfield) gives Jay Young a call (or Pat Sellers?). I highly doubt it. Patrick was a finalist here because of his alumni status (and a very credible coaching resume). Doubt he has the connections to Fairfield administration to be a serious canidate. He has some...

Re: 2019 Coaching Carousel

Not bad, going from the NEC to A-10 head coach in just 2 seasons. Good for him - seems like a great guy and coach. Jamion Christian has been hired by George Washington as its men's basketball coach after one season at Siena. Christian's hiring was announced Thursday, less than a week after GW parted...
