Re: UConn future status as a mid-major

But a win is a win is a win. A win is a win, yet they're agasint a school I guarantee nobody knows anything about, and the other that hasn't been relevant in sports for decades now? Get me off this top; it's spinning too hard. Basically, they gambled that revenue at UConn would grow at the pace see...

Re: CCSU Constructs Historic Building Project Campaign

JJ The public would be shocked to learn of all the bonded money going to private construction projects. To add, the public would be shocked to know how many state-funded organizations, especially non-profit ones, just sponge up dollars and amount to almost nothing. Just the amount of money that man...

Re: CCSU Constructs Historic Building Project Campaign

I have confirmed. There is no truth to that rumor. CCSU is not cutting T&F or any sport! I would've been blown away if we cut T&F considering it's really the only sport we show up in and, quite frankly, handily dominate. In regards to the size of the Engineering Building, I may have spoke too soon....

Re: CCSU Constructs Historic Building Project Campaign

Man, that is a TON of work. The 100K sq.ft. engineering building feels small, but anything at this point to pull the tech and engineering programs away from the other hard sciences and maths and get them their own building. That Carroll renovation seems very high considering the scope of work. I can...

Re: CCSU Constructs Historic Building Project Campaign

The up the hill quad, Vance, Sam May etc, is looking REALLY crappy. Lawns are a mess, side walks all tore up. Felt like looking over my shoulder like i was in a bad neighborhood, lol. Do they still have that giant move-out dumpster there? Last fall, it hung around for much longer than it should hav...

Re: New Details Emerge On Proposal To Replace Dillon Stadium In Hartford

A soccer stadium? For a state that has no soccer history and no team to put into the MLS? You have got to be kidding me. The only thing that would be even close to acceptable to dump time and money on is an ice rink to bring back the Whalers to cash in on nostalgia. I'd be all for private investment...

Re: Kaiser Hall 2 B renovated & expanded

Why isn't this plan made public? Why is this a secret and not made available on the CCSU website? What is so hard to be transparent? I'll be honest and have no idea, considering how many actual projects are slated to start within the next two years (it's a fair amount). My guess is that, after havi...

Re: Kaiser Hall 2 B renovated & expanded

Again taking whatever scraps we can get has been our history and by all accounts will continue to be our future. And Skyhawk, I agree there are other upgrades that could and should be made ( restrooms, concessions ) but as you mentioned, what can we really expect based on the 17 million figure. I'm...

Re: Kaiser Hall 2 B renovated & expanded

I'm not being negative here, the renovations are great but they seem to be more geared to recreational/student life rather than improving the D-I athletic experience for your average fan at CCSU. Bruce, Marc, and the "VIP's" will be comfortable, but what about us average guys in the stands? To be f...
