Re: EE back to the Big East

"And the “rent” back in Rentchler." Skyhawkct. Which raises the issue if the EE drops football, who then becomes the prime tenant of The House That the Connecticut Taxpayers Built? And why not us, at least for part of the schedule? There is no reason why we could not play at least two non-conference...

Re: EE back to the Big East

"UConn and the State of Connecticut will authorize and pay about $15 MILLION in administrative fees just to change athletic conferences." J.J.

Re: Evil Empire Update

Exactly. So far all that the State has gotten out of Rentschler was in August/2005, when Mick Jagger, Keith Richard, & Charlie Watts took the stage.

Re: Evil Empire Update

This has all the earmarks of an FBS program on an eventual collision course with a downgrade to FCS, probably with the Colonial Conference. The EE would be joining former Yankee Conference colleagues UNH, URI, and Maine.

Re: Now a Sacred Heart Poll?!?

In the northeast Its not unusual for a public on-line institution to be a stand alone entity. Empire State College is the on-line member of the SUNY system. Thomas Edison State University plays a similar role in New Jersey. When he was governor, Chris Christie did try to merge Thomas Edison with Rut...

Re: NCAA Fayetteville Regional

This is an outstanding story. I went many CCSU baseball games back in the late 90’s and early 2000’s, but this current program is at a way higher level.

It is difficult to imagine anything going farther south without invoking the name Roald Amundsen.

And with a roster of 13 freshman and 10 sophomores to go with only 4 seniors and 7 juniors, this may happen again next year.

The New England Patriots are one of the greatest sports dynasties of all time. And you can make a very strong case that Scott Pioli is one of the pillars of that dynasty. Yet another great CCSU success story.

“I really enjoy reading about the total disaster that is UConn basketball and football.” J.J.

Absolutely. It is so therapeutic.
