Re: Next Season

Here’s one for you. So if covid ruins basketball as well as football, what happens to DM’s contract? Can they renew on single digit wins?Assuming all these coaches will get paid if the season is cancelled (I hope) so then what? Contract would’ve over correct? Considering the unusual circumstances, ...

Re: Kyle Vinales

I loved watching him play! Okay, he was not a good defensive player, but he had the nasty habit of completely taking over a game and demoralizing an opponent, and that included his verbal jousting with opposing coaches. Remember him and Latina going at it! Come on, that was fun! And I think that Lat...

Re: 2020 Non-conference schedule

I propose a simple swap - Oct. 10 Central Connecticut vs. Army at West Point it does appear to be a natural swap. Army gets a replacement FCS opponent and Central gets a FBS pay day. So it makes sense, which should immediately send up a red flag, Things that make sense usually don't happen

Re: Deleware at. To next?

This may be a way of Howard to find a centralized home for these sports while maintaining their membership in the MEAC for the remaining sports...for now. Yes, that seems to be the indication. If they were planning to bolt then why would Howard find a conference to supplement the MEAC? They are sta...

Re: Deleware at. To next?

4 year graduation rate is one of the criteria for college ratings. But at least in Central's case, that does not indicate the quality of the education. Central has a lot of "blue collar" kids who have jobs in order to pay for or help pay for school. Many of them skip or go part time for a semester o...

Re: Deleware at. To next?

I think the most important thing about that article is what was not said. There wasn't anybody that said "no." Reading between the lines it seems that negotiations are ongoing and serious.
I would like to see it happen.

Re: Football transfers out?

Hey if a player feels he is not getting enough PT then I cannot blame him for transferring. But ultimately, that means that the coaching staff thinks another player is better and/or another player is a better fit to the scheme.

Re: No Surprise there

I agree JJ. The entry/exit fee could be paid by scheduling an extra play for pay BB or Football game or two with a major school. The fit with the AE is a natural fit with school type (medium sized state universities) and region. And as a bonus there would be a home and away game with an almost cross...

Re: No Surprise there

Now we know why Merrimack was added as the eleventh member. RMU leaves and the NEC is still at ten. I don't think that a scoreboard could be hung from the ceiling. It is way too low. They need to put an identical scoreboard on the opposite wall of the new scoreboard. So the season ticket side can ac...

Ice Hockey!
Forget about it. I think the question is, can we keep what we have?

Re: Time for a change...

After 2019 Football season which started with an "interim" coach, who can complain?
Kerri seemed capable and competent on the bench as acting HC last season. That's half the battle, the rest is recruiting, which remains to be seen.

Re: Next Season

Of course I too am rooting that DM can turn things around. But based on what i have seen my confidence level is very low. As far as analytics go, they are a valuable tool and I am sure that DM uses them. How could anyone with his experience not? But I don't have any problem with a coach who occasion...

Re: Next Season

The mid range jumper is good when it is shot by the GOAT (I assume DM is referring to Jordan, who took them with great frequency) because it goes in for a high percentage. Most mortal basketball players do not shoot like that, and for them it is better to attempt a three (for a shooter who can do it...

Re: Jake Watch

I think it is unlikely that the Bengals will carry three QB's again. Jake is probably going to have to compete for #2. I think that if he is cut someone will pick him up. It is a low risk signing for any team.
